An insider’s guide to the UAE

My favourite spa

The Talise Spa in Al Qasr Hotel is my absolute favourite. Its layout, design and small, luxurious and bespoke treatment rooms give it a special feel, enhanced by the luscious greenery all around it.

My favourite hairdresser

I have been a loyal client of Pastels Salon Jumeirah for more than ten years. I completely trust georgie, the salon’s manager, with my hair and she really spends a lot of time creating the perfect colour and haircut. She is so conscientious about doing a good job that I have come to rely on her and trust her very much.

My favourite pampering treatment

I love a Moroccan bath, followed by a massage. There is something so therapeutic about the bath and it really enhances your sense of wellbeing. It’s also a fantastic beauty treatment to leave my skin clean, soft and glowing. To have a massage after it is so indulgent, but I always leave feeling altogether amazing and completely relaxed.

My favourite family restaurant

We are really spoilt for choice here, there are so many to choose from. As a family, we really enjoy The Farm at Al barari, as it is more like a social hub than a simple restaurant. The menu is filled with delicious, organic dishes that are really healthy and, thanks to our visits there, my two daughters are now used to eating sweet potato rather than regular chips! It is very family-friendly and the girls love to run around after enjoying their food.

My favourite date night spot

We like to try as many different places as possible when we get some time, though at the moment, our favourite date night destination is the Four Seasons. We have tried several restaurants there and really enjoyed our experience at each one.

My favourite place to unwind

I do love the sea, so that would be my ultimate choice. but I so rarely get the time to go to the beach that I have created my own retreat in my very own back garden. I like to go there around 5pm or 6pm and watch the sunset surrounded by greenery

My dubai hidden gem

Al Qudra Lakes. Nestled in the middle of the Saih Al Salam desert, it’s brilliant for getting back to nature and a great place to camp as a family and to walk dogs. I love going there.
