KBW Investments has appointed Aaron Chehab to the role of chief commercial officer, making him responsible for driving development and delivery of KBW’s growth strategy in the region. Chehab has 16 years of experience, including a combination of strategic business development and practical commercial management of large-cale developments within the GCC.
Chris Divito has been named as Friends Provident International’s new managing director for the Middle East and Africa. Divito joins FPI from the Dubai International Financial Centre Authority where he was senior vice president and head of wealth and asset management. He has also served as CEO of Standard Life’s Middle East business. Of the appointment, Divito said: “I am absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to join FPI at what is a particularly exciting time for the business, and for the life industry in the Middle East in general.” Divito replaces outgoing MD Marcus Gent.
Millennium Hotels and Resorts has appointed Hussein Kahil as its vice president of operations, Middle East and Africa. Reporting directly to COO Kevork Deldelian, Kahil will oversee hotel operations, property performance and owner engagement across the group’s current portfolio of 32 hotels. The new VP has more than 20 years of experience in operational leadership, most recently as senior director of Middle East and Africa operations for the Wyndham Hotel Group, where he was responsible for more than 50 properties. He has also worked in roles at AccorHotels, IHG and FRHI in Canada and the Middle East.
CV Naveen Sharma
A new managing committee for 2017-2018 has been appointed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India’s Dubai chapter, with CV Naveen Sharma announced as the chairman. The ICAI is the second largest accounting body in the world with over 250,000 members. The Dubai chapter is the largest overseas chapter with more than 2,500 members. CA Mahmood was named as vice chairman, CA Anish Mehta as secretary, and CA Sundar Subramanian Nurani as treasurer. A further five members were announced as executive members of the managing committee.
