Kuwait is aiming to re­place more than 44,500 for­eign gov­ern­ment work­ers with cit­i­zens in the com­ing years, un­der a gov­ern­ment res­o­lu­tion. Chair­man of the Civil Ser­vices Com­mis­sion, Ah­mad Al Jasser, told state news agency KUNA that 3,140 for­eign work­ers had al­ready been made re­dun­dant un­der man­dated cuts for 2017-2018, with a to­tal of 44,572 work­ers sub­ject to the CSC res­o­lu­tion. Jobs in the med­i­cal and health­care sec­tor are ex­empt.
