SICO: Bahrain- based SICO was awarded the first non- UAE li­cence for a mar­ket maker by the Abu Dhabi Se­cu­ri­ties Ex­change ( ADX). The com­pany is the fifth reg­is­tered mar­ket maker in Abu Dhabi af­ter play­ing the same role on the Bahrain Bourse since 1995. ADX said SICO was al­ready a ma­jor par­tic­i­pant in UAE mar­kets through Abu Dhabi sub­sidiary SICO Fi­nan­cial Brokerage.

A BAD ONE FOR...

Farah Hashi: The Bri­tish tourist was forced to pay a re­ported Dhs120,000 in fines af­ter speed­ing in a rented Lam­borgh­ini. He was caught by 33 radars driv­ing at speeds of up to 230kph. De­spite mak­ing the pay­ment, a dis­count on the Dhs170,000 of penal­ties ac­crued on July 31, he is said to still be stuck in Dubai fol­low­ing an ad­di­tional Dhs50,000 claim for lost rev­enue from the car rental firm.
