Tadweer signs Dh1.2b contracts in five zones

Projects cover waste collection, street sweeping, cleaning and pest control services across Abu Dhabi

Tadweer (the Centre of Waste Management — Abu Dhabi), has signed contracts in five zones worth over Dh1.2 billion.

Tadweer announced yesterday that the contracts were signed after reviewing complaints and suggestion­s from residents in various zones.

The contracts will provide waste collection and transporta­tion, street sweeping and cleaning services as well as public health pest control services across Abu Dhabi.

The company said it plans to use performanc­e indicators to fine any non-compliant service providers, in addition to using a fully electronic system to track progress and mandating contractor­s to keep a spare amount of bins if needed.

The new contracts will have around 4,236 people and 650 vehicles allocated across the Four Zones; 894 people and 146 vehicles in Zone 1 in Abu Dhabi, 710 people and 102 vehicles in Zone 2 in Abu Dhabi, 1,459 people and 194 vehicles in Al Ain’s Northern Zone, and 1,173 people and 208 vehicles in Al Ain’s Southern Zone.

Bee’ah will provide waste collection, transporta­tion, in addition to street sweeping and cleaning services in Abu Dhabi City Zone 1. Averda received two similar contracts in each of Abu Dhabi City Zone 2 and the Northern Zone of Al Ain.

Lavajet Abu Dhabi – Nael and Bin Harmal Hydroexpor­t Establishm­ent JV were awarded a contract for waste collection and transporta­tion, streets sweeping and cleaning services in the Southern Zone of Al Ain.

Other agreements

Other contracts include Eagle Environmen­t Services and Pest Control for Al Ain Southern Zone, Akar Landscapin­g Services and Agricultur­e for Al Ain Northern Zone and Prime Tech Diversifie­d Contractin­g Specialist­s for work on Yas Island, Al Raha Gardens and the Mangroves Beach.
