Constitution bench to hear Aadhaar case
constitution bench would be set up to hear petitions challenging the Centre’s decision to make Aadhaar mandatory to avail various services and government welfare schemes, the Supreme Court of India said, yesterday.
A bench, comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices A.M. Khanwilkar and D.Y. Chandrachud, said the larger bench would commence hearing on these petitions in the last week of November. Several petitioners have said the scheme is violative of privacy rights. (PTI)
