Pre-orders for the iPhone X began on Friday, but residents in the UAE will have to wait a little longer for their phones to arrive. Apple’s UAE website is currently showing a wait time of five to six weeks for the new phone, as stated in the report, “iPhone X preorders selling out in UAE”, published in the Business section of Gulf News on October 28.

However, when asked online, eight in ten respondents to a poll on gulfnews.com do not intend to buy Apple’s 10th anniversary phone.

A quick look at the website shows that the starting price of this new model is Dh4,099. Compare this with the iPhone 8, which is releasing at the same time, and you can save over Dh1,000.

Is the wait after pre-order just to create hype? Is the high price discouraging people from buying the phone? Share your views at readers@gulfnews.com.
