TRAINEE DOCTOR DIES OF COVID-19

A postgraduate trainee Dr Muzamil Abbas who was serving at the neurology ward of the Nishtar Hospital of Multan in Punjab went down battling coronavirus. He had contracted Covid-19 more than a month ago.

Dr Abbas was initially admitted to the Nishtar Hospital but later was shifted to RecepTayyip Erdogan Hospital, Muzaffargarh when his condition deteriorated where he was put on a ventilator.

His condition improved and he was removed from the ventilator but was put on it again after his condition worsened to never recover. Earlier, Principal of the Nishtar Medical University Dr. Mustafa Kamal Pasha has also lost his life to coronavirus.

The Young Doctors Association and Dr Muzamil Abbas’ colleagues have demanded that the deceased doctor should be declared martyr and compensation for his family should be announced by the provincial government.
