05 STAVANGER WINNING DESIGN
Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects has won an international competition to transform a park in this Norwegian city and build a new 101-metre tower which will feature more than 18,000 square metres of flexible space for offices, restaurants, exhibitions and conferences. Breiavatnet Lanterna aims to create a new benchmark for sustainable and creative work environments. The façade of the 26-storey tower will be composed of slim vertical aluminium and glass panels which offer increased daylight to over 1000 work spaces. A church will be housed on floors three to five, while green terraces have been created at differing heights and orientations.
