Scottish newcomer TODD is next up for our DJ Booth, the resident DJ at new organic bar Tribeca as well as Superheroes and Electric Days guest DJ
One thing you might not know about me is... I used to be very sporty, I played football, basketball, volleyball, hockey, swimming - all at quite a high standard. You wouldn’t guess that now if you see the rubbish I eat!
My worst ever job was… It has to be a washing dishes in a nursing home, it was my first ever job - grim!
My favorite ever record is... That is tough one! Pepe Bradock, ‘ Deep Burnt’ is right up there!
DJing is much like... Painting, take a blank canvas ( the dancefloor), use your tools ( tunes) and create something special. Wow that was deep!
Dubai’s clubbing scene is... Very healthy! I’ve only been here for just over 3 months and the calibre of guests and residents that play here is very high! I’m very impressed with the venues and the quality of the decor and equipment.
I’m really proud of... Everybody that puts in so much hard work, week in week out to make Dubai’s scene what it is! Hats off ladies and gentlemen.
What track could you drop in every set? Either ‘ Deep Burnt’ or a go to weapon: DJ Assassin ‘ A Face in the Crowd’ ( Intelllidread Mix). Nu school garage vibes!
I can’t live without... My wife Jenny! She has been my rock through some really tough times recently and making the transition to Dubai life. My friends and family are also amazing and I wouldn’t be where I am with out them. Literally, my mate Pauly drove me to the airport.
My biggest DJ achievement to date is... Warming up for Mark Ronson at the Edinburgh Hogmanay Street Party. Playing on 3 decks in front of 80,000 people, on your town’s high street at New Year is a very daunting prospect but I loved every minute of it.
What is your guiltiest pleasure? 80s pop; Kate Bush, Spandau Ballet, Tina Turner - they all have a very special place in my heart.
If you could DJ in any decade which would it be... It would have to be the 90s. Dance music culture had some very important defining moments in the 90s - house, techno, trance, garage - it had it all!.
If I could go back-to-back with any other DJ it would be... It would have to be Loco Dice, either playing his original minimal techno/ DC 10 style or his current bumping house – he’s got it!
I’m not a politician but… It should have been a yes!
