PLUS MINUS FEAT. JAMES ZABIELA @ LEVEL 41
By now everyone’s probably already been to a party hosted on Level 41 of the Media One Hotel, but in case you haven’t, we can’t recommend it enough. A dark room, relaxed dress code and no f*** ing sparklers in sight, this a place for promoters to cater to music lovers without the posing you get at other clubs, and who better than to throw a gig like this than Plus Minus. Sure, the production was a little rough around the edges. but so is the venue and although you can’t escape tables in this city, at least they were kept out of the way of the dance floor.
Gabriel Floriani was the man on warm up duties from midnight and although the room was sweltering, he kept his cool and played out a quality set, keeping things subdued until Zabs was ready to roll. James worked his way through a number of genres, matched only in variety by the technical equipment that he kept pulling out of his bag to work into his performance ( and we’re pretty sure we saw a rabbit hiding out in there too). The clued- up crowd was entranced, with the progressive melodic numbers getting a huge response. We were gutted that the wizard only had an hour and a half to work with though - we can’t wait until he’s back in town.
