Style notes

Owned by designer Jasper Conran, the hotel combines Moroccan craftsmanship with Conran’s own collection of art, textiles and antiques to create a hotel that feels like a private home. Whitewashed walls, high zouak (painted cedar wood) ceilings, floating voile drapes and restful shades capture the classic elegance of 1930s hotels. Shuttered windows finished with filigree ironwork look out on to the courtyard garden, where fig and lemon trees surround a fountain of zellige tile work.

This historic 19th-century riad, originally part of a Moroccan palace, is in the heart of the medina, and comprises five spacious suites surrounding a courtyard garden and pool.
