John gives us #weekend goals

Khaleej Times - City Times - - FITNESS. MOVIES AND MORE -

John Karpathakis is the general manager and head trainer of F45 Training Dubai Marina. He lives and breathes fitness as his typical day is spent training groups of people as well training himself. He has a BSc. in Physical Education from University of Athens. “I’ve always been very passionate about how the human body moves and functions. I love helping people change their lives – one workout at a time. I’m goal oriented in my work and in life in general. I believe that if you put your mind to it and work hard, nothing can stop you from reaching your goals,” says Karpathakis.

Hollywood time

A typical weekend for me starts at 7am at F45 Training Dubai Marina where we teach four back-to-back high intensity circuits. There is something about being surrounded by many high energy friends. Moreover, the DJ that performs live every Friday gets me in a great mood.

Life by the beach

Usually after my morning workouts, I like to chase the sun at one of Dubai’s sandy beaches or a relaxed pool. I’m from Greece so I’m used to being in the sunshine and the water.

Always hungry!

I love cooking, eating out and food in general and I really like the fact that Dubai offers so many options –healthy or not ! My ideal dinner is a juicy steak, cooked medium rare. I also have a weakness for sweet potato fries. Meeting with friends for a coffee or going to watch a movie later in the evening is always a great idea. Usually on Saturdays, I enjoy sleeping late and I enjoy cooking breakfast at home. What’s better than some homemade, runny, sunny sideup eggs cooked in coconut oil, accompanied by slices of fresh avocado and smoked salmon?

Practice what you preach

I like training on Saturdays when I’m well rested as I can focus better on my own workout routine and fitness goals. Working out during weekends makes me feel accomplished.
