FOR THE SECOND week in a row we’re confronted with an animated film we don’t know so well, but is incredibly popular. Unlike Cars 3, however, we think Despicable Me 3 has more going for it. Not only does it have Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig in the principal roles, it also possesses everybody’s loveable little yellow warblers, the Minions.

In this installment there’s quite a lot going on. Gru is firmly in the Anti Villain League until he is asked to leave for failing to capture super villain Bratt. Out of the AVL, he fails to return to villainy causing the Minions to leave. Lucy, Gru’s wife is struggling to come to terms with being Gru’s children’s step mum and, if that weren’t enough, Gru’s upbeat twin brother Dru comes onto the scene looking to learn how to be a villain.

So many storylines means this episode has been deemed a tad chaotic, leading to less favourable reviews than the previous two. It still should be a laugh though and a decent way to pass the time indoors. IM Db has it at 6.7 Trivia: this film also stars South Park’s Trey Parker.
