Vidya explains her job as a CBFC board member

Khaleej Times - City Times - - YOUR DAILY DOSE OF BOLLYWOOD -

“As a board member there is not that much work. People are not aware as to how the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) works. Everyone keeps asking me if I watch movies all the time. But there are various steps to it. There is an examining committee which is comprised of people from different walks of lives - it could be a teacher, doctor anyone. They watch the movie and then certify it. If that certification is not acceptable to the director or a producer then it is forwarded to the revising committee. The revising committee is where we come in. One member of our committee once again watches the movie with a different panel, comprising of people from different walks of life, but different from the previous members of the examining committee. And then, we sort of decide whether to go with the recommended certification or give it a fresh one. So, I have only watched two films so far as a board member. It is not that much of work but whatever little work that I have done, I am enjoying the process and learning a lot from it.”
