Entreprene­urs key to shaping future

dubai — Entreprene­urs across the UAE have an important role in shaping the economic future of the country, said Mohammed bin Sulaiman, senior manager of Member Relations at the Dubai Chamber.

“The UAE’s growing competiven­ess in entreprene­urship reflects the winning culture of innovation, high performanc­e and excellence, especially the support of the UAE’s wise leadership in ensuring the success of entreprene­urs in the country,” he said on day one of the National Treasure Initiative conference by Knowledge Expansion.

Organised under the patronage of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and in partnershi­p with Tejar Dubai, the event brought together a number of distinguis­hed speakers, who shared their experience­s in different fields.

“This global initiative, being held for the first time in the UAE and the region, complement­s Dubai Chamber’s initiative of Tejar Dubai entreprene­urship developmen­t programme whose aim is to find and train creative and commercial­ly-minded youth to help them turn their business ideas into a reality,” Bin Sulaiman said.

Dr Maryam Matar, founder of UAE Genetic Disease Associatio­n, shared her experience of creating public awareness about genetic disorders, and how taking initiative­s on her own helped her to make a big change.

how it is possible to find success by training ourselves to focus on the positives rather than the negatives. She explained that a good way to give ourselves a confidence boost is by mentally encouragin­g ourselves to focus on positive points. “You get a much better result if you feel good about yourself,” she said.

Sigbert Dhas, founder of National Treasure and CEO of Knowledge Expansion, disclosed that they had received a very strong interest from young profession­als in leading universiti­es for the conference. “We feel very validated as we wanted to create an extraordin­ary conference that inspires young profession­als and their feedback so far is extremely positive.”

Neha Shaikh, co-founder of National Treasure, added that the delegate interest for the inaugural edition of the event was extremely encouragin­g. “We are very happy to see that months of creative brain storming and planning have come to such a successful start today. National Treasure was conceptual­ised to be a catalyst of positive inspiratio­n and learning for the people of UAE,” she said.
