sharjah — The Sharjah Police have advised beach-goers to be cautious while swimming in the sea during summer.

A top officer said the police have installed warning signboards in dangerous areas that witness strong currents.

“Residents must follow weather forecast reports before going to the beaches,” he advised.

He added that no drowning accidents were reported during the Eid Al Fitr holidays. The officer urged parents to keep an eye on their children when they go for picnics at beaches like Al Mamzar.

Meanwhile, the police have taken measures to prevent water bike accidents. “The Sharjah Police have launched an inspection campaign to crack down on residents who ride their jetskis too close to the shore.”

He urged the public to inform rescue units deployed on the beaches in case of any accidents and emergencies.
