Min­istry launches au­dio book li­brary

abu dhabi — The Min­istry of Cul­ture and Knowl­edge De­vel­op­ment has an­nounced the launch of an au­dio book li­brary across all its cul­tural cen­tres.

The min­istry will also pro­vide au­dio books to schools and cen­tres for chil­dren with de­ter­mi­na­tion to en­cour­age them to be part of the cul­tural move­ment and to sup­port read­ing in gen­eral. This technology of au­dio books will also fa­cil­i­tate read­ing for chil­dren with phys­i­cal dif­fi­cul­ties.

As an ini­tial step, a large num­ber of chil­drens books were pro­duced, and the project will con­tinue through­out the year to pro­vide var­i­ous Emi­rati, Ara­bic and in­ter­na­tional knowl­edge ac­cord­ing to a long term plan.

“As an ini­tial step of the project, the min­istry started by pro­duc­ing win­ning books of the Chil­dren’s Short Story Award,” said Fa­tima Faisal Al Nas­sour, di­rec­tor of the knowl­edge con­tent depart­ment at the Min­istry of Cul­ture and Knowl­edge De­vel­op­ment.

Among the most im­por­tant ti­tles cho­sen were Al Marra Al Ta­mousa — The Am­bi­tious Woman, Rain­bow Shoes , Rain­bow Cake, Mahra and the Colour­ing Book, Tale of The Palm , Tale of The 4 Colours, Man­sour’s Di­ary’s, Draw My Coun­try, Over the Hori­zons, Trip of Brave Ham­dan, Shams 1, When you love your coun­try, I will never leave, The dream of a wan­der­ing ven­dor, A stranger in the desert.

The of­fi­cials dur­ing the launch of the au­dio-book li­brary. The project will con­tinue through­out the year. —
