Dubai Police captain all set to break record on wheelie
dubai — An officer of the Dubai Police will attempt to break the Guinness World Record of the longest wheelie on an ATV (all-terrain vehicle) or quad bike early next year as part of the Dubai Motorbike Festival.
A wheelie is a vehicle acrobatic in which the front wheels of a quad bike come off the ground by applying significant torque to allow the rider to balance the motorbike on its rear wheels.
Captain Abdulla Al Hattawi, more popularly known as Abdulla Hollandi, a member of the Dubai Police’s stunt team and recognised as one of the top ATV stunt athletes in the world, will go on a recordbreaking 60km wheelie from Ghantoot to Dubai World Trade Centre on January 12.

Hollandi told Khaleej Times on Wednesday that he has the stamina and endurance to set a new world record.
“I have been planning and training for the past two years to break the record. In fact, I have done a wheelie for one hour and 45 minutes but I did not measure the distance and I did not keep track of my speed,” he said.
Hollandi said he will finish the 60-km wheelie in one hour and will maintain a speed between 60 to 80kmph.
“Wheelies require strong hands and steady forearms,” he said. “I have been doing long distance wheelies twice a week and in between practices I go for crossfit training to build my strength and endurance. The next five weeks will be hectic for my training,” added Hollandi, who is also a senior official responsible for training the Dubai Police Special Forces.
The Dubai Police will play a crucial role in the attempt. Major Mohammed Saeed Al Hattawi said the police will make sure the route is safe. Two lanes on Dubai-Abu Dhabi Highway and along Sheikh Zayed Road (Dubai-bound) will be closed on January 12 for the attempt, which will start at 8am.
Major Al Hattawi said a convoy of Dubai Police supercar fleet, including a Ferrarri, Aston Martin One, Audi, Bugatti and several motorbikes will be following Hollandi.
Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, said: “We at Dubai Police extend our full support to Captain Abdulla Al Hattawi in his attempt to break the Guinness World Record.” Organisers of the event said motorcycle riders and clubs are invited to support the world record attempt by joining the motorcycle parade that will be following the Dubai Police convoy alongside Hollandi.
