Khaleej Times - - OPINION -

With the passing away of S Nihal Singh, an era of journalists who started their career post Indian independence has ended. Probably he was among the last of those liberal and democratic Editors. A towering personality, Nihal Singh was well-respected in mainstream English journalism. His career spans several decades and he held the posts of the Chief Editor at The Statesman, Editor in Chief at The Indian Express, and Editor at Khaleej Times. His impeccable integrity and journalistic ethics are a benchmark in today’s times. RIP Nihal Singh. My prayers are with the family and friends of the departed soul. —Ramesh G Jethwani, Bangalore
