abu dhabi — Unnecessarily using hazard lights while driving in foggy conditions can distract other motorists and lead to “dangerous accidents”, the Abu Dhabi Police have warned.

The police urged motorists to use hazard lights only when stopping at the roadside in case of accidents; whenever there are “other impediments that require stopping in the middle of the road; or when there is a real danger ahead that other drivers must be warned about”.

According to traffic regulations, motorists violating rules during foggy weather conditions will be fined Dh500 and four black points. —
