NAB challenges ex-PM’s acquittal in graft case

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday moved a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) challenging the acquittal of former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and others in the Piran Gaib Rental Power reference. The petition said the trial court had ignored the evidence in deciding the acquittal pleas of Pervaiz Ashraf and others. It prayed to the court to turn down the verdict as null and void. The petition has named Pervaiz Ashraf, Ismail Qureshi, Shahid Rafi, Shaukat Tareen and others as accused in the case.
