Batna dou­ble keeps Clarets top of the tree

Wingers Mourad Batna and Balazs Dz­sudzsak pounced in in­jury time as lead­ers Al Wahda fought back from a goal down to beat Al Dhafra 3-1, main­tain­ing their 100-per-cent start to the 2017/18 Ara­bian Gulf League.

Morocco mid­fielder Adil Her­mach headed the Western Knights into an early lead at Al Nahyan Sta­dium, sum­mer buy Batna con­vert­ing on the hour af­ter Dz­sudzsak (above) missed a first com­pet­i­tive penalty of his career. Batna then nod­ded the Clarets ahead for his sec­ond in­jury-time win­ner in suc­ces­sion. Dz­sudzsak soon fin­ished from a tight an­gle to seal the vic­tory.

Mean­while, Se­bas­tian Saez struck a hat-trick as Emi­rates Club thrashed Hatta 4-0.

The Ar­gen­tine headed the Fal­cons in front, be­fore scor­ing from the penalty spot two min­utes af­ter the in­ter­val. Ex-Liver­pool winger Se­bas­tian Leto tapped in the third, Saez then seal­ing his hat­trick at the death.
