Perfect India are a four-ce in qualifying
India have qualified for the AFC Asian Cup for only the fourth time in their history after a commanding 4-1 victory over Macau maintained their 100 per cent record.
Stephen Constantine’s side are a perfect four wins from four in Group A and have qualified for the 2019 tournament in the UAE with two games to spare.
They did, however, lose their clean sheet record with Macau’s Niki Torrao becoming the first player to score against India.
Torrao’s goal had equalised Rowllin Borges’ deflected strike and proved a temporary blip for India who took control in the second-half in Bangalore.
Captain Sunil Chhetri restored India’s lead on the hour mark before an own goal from Macau’s Lam Ka-seng and a last-minute strike from Jeje Lalpekhlua sealed the points.
India join Oman and Palestine who had confirmed their qualification on Tuesday.
