Lingard the leader
Red Devil one of top captaincy choices along with Lukaku and Morata
The Premier League is back after a break in the action owing to the domestic cup fixtures and it’s time to mull over your Fantasy Premier League team again.
The Double Gameweek didn’t deliver the way many hoped, especially with Harry Kane drawing a blank over his two fixtures for Tottenham.
Manchester United face a comfortable tie against managerless Stoke City while Arsenal travel to Bournemouth. Meanwhile, Manchester City and Liverpool go head-to-head at Anfield as Chelsea host Leicester. Tottenham entertain a stubborn Everton defence.
Don’t forget to set your line-up by UAE: 18:00.
Captain Jesse Lingard Man United 6.3M
Jesse Lingard was one of our picks to bring in a couple of Gameweeks ago and now it’s time to go one step further and hand the United man the captain’s armband.
The attacking midfielder has stepped up in the last month or so and Jose Mourinho’s faith in him continues to grow as a result. He’s provided returns in four of the last five GWs, managing two doublefigure hauls over that period as well.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan still struggling for form, Lingard has assumed responsibility in that attacking midfield role.
United face Stoke at home who have sacked manager Mark Hughes and haven’t kept a clean sheet for 12 games in the league.
Alternatives Romelu Lukaku (11.3M)
Though he hasn’t lived up to expectations and has blanked in the last four GWs but at home, against a weak Stoke defence and after being afforded a bit of a rest at long last, he must be considered.
Alvaro Morata (10.5M)
Morata is in the same boat as the Belgian, wasting glorious opportunities of late. Despite his poor the Chelsea striker remains an intriguing option given the number of chances he gets on the end of.
Facing Leicester at home, the Spaniard could finally deliver if he gets his finishing right.
Bold Choice Marko Arnautovic (7.0M)
Arnautovic is a slight doubt this weekend and that makes captaining him even more risky.
He didn’t feature in West Ham’s last fixture away to Spurs but prior to that, he delivered returns in five of the previous six GWs.
Linsanity: Jesse Lingard has quickly become one of United’s most important pieces, despite not being their most glamorous star.
