The Arizona Diamondbacks snapped a six-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Daniel Descalso’s RBI single in the eighth inning won it for Arizona, who started Tuesday night still on top in the National League West despite not recording a win since an 8-5 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on May 8.

Brad Boxberger nailed down the victory, striking out two in a scoreless top of the ninth.

The Detroit Tigers rallied fom five runs down in the sixth inning to beat the Cleveland Indians 9-8.

Cleveland stormed ahead as Brandon Guyer clubbed a firstinning grand slam and they scored three more in the sixth, but Detroit came storming back in the seventh with five runs, including RBI doubles for James McCann, JaCoby Jones, and Pete Kozma.

San Diego’s Jordan Lyles took a perfect game into the eighth inning against the Colorado Rockies but saw it broken up by Trevor Story’s single. Lyles struck out 10 in 7 1/3 innings as the Padres won 4-0.

The Pittsburgh Pirates also recorded a shutout with a 7-0 win over the Chicago White Sox.

The Chicago Cubs scored two in the ninth to sink the Atlanta Braves 3-2, while the Minnesota Twins beat the St Louis Cardinals 4-1.

The Los Angeles Dodgers suffered a fifth straight loss as they were beaten 4-2 by the Miami Marlins, while the New York Mets piled up 16 hits in a 12-2 rout of the Toronto Blue Jays. The Houston Astros edged clear at the top of the American League West with a 5-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels.
