Mid­dle­sex Uni­ver­sity Dubai wel­comes stu­dents to new aca­demic year

Mid­dle­sex Uni­ver­sity Dubai is wel­com­ing more than 2,800 new and re­turn­ing stu­dents to

its Knowl­edge Park Cam­pus for the irst day of classes for the 2017/18 aca­demic year on Sept.24. Cel­e­bra­tions will start with Marhaba Week from 1st to 5th Oc­to­ber. The an­nual event gives stu­dents the chance to meet

oth­ers in their course join clubs, par­tic­i­pate in var­i­ous ac­tiv­i­ties,

en­joy lash-mobs, dance shows and much more.

“Marhaba Week is illed with

great ac­tiv­i­ties and events set to

wel­come new and re­turn­ing stu­dents

to the Uni­ver­sity for another busy year,” said Dra­gana Sy­mons, Stu­dent

Uni­ver­sity Dubai. “De­signed to bring stu­dents to­gether and make the start of the year one to re­mem­ber,

ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude hip-hop classes,

trea­sure hunt, movie af­ter­noon, po­etry slam and trivia.”

“The 2017/18 aca­demic year marks a num­ber of mile­stones for the Uni­ver­sity, the high­est num­ber of stu­dents in our 12 years in Dubai, the irst in­take of stu­dents into the Uni­ver­sity’s new School of Art and De­sign and launch of our post-grad­u­ate Law pro­grammes. It also sees the es­tab­lish­ment of the Cen­tre of Aca­demic Suc­cess

which will pro­vide a range of aca­demic skills work­shops, Stu­dent

“We have taken the steps to ex­pand our pop­u­lar lap­top loan

locker scheme,” added Dr Fer­nan­des. “We were the irst Uni­ver­sity in the UAE to in­tro­duce the ser­vice and I am proud to an­nounce its ex­pan­sion

fol­low­ing the quick up­take in the

ini­tia­tive by our stu­dents. This is just one pro­gramme we have in

place which is de­signed to help our

stu­dents on the path to aca­demic suc­cess.”
