The presentation will take place on Sept. 12, at Skylight Clarkson (Gallery 3) during New York Fashion Week.
Creating artwork speciically for the presentation, each artist has been assigned a “room,” where their work will be exhibited. The gallery will integrate the works of Tallulah Willis in the dinette, Lucy Sparrow in the kitchen, Susie Lopez in the kitchen, Blair Z in the bedroom, Angelica Hicks in the bathroom, Lola Schnabel in the living room, Francesca Dimattio in the foyer and Scout Willis singing in music room, alongside the alice + olivia Spring 2018 Collection.
Situated on west 23rd street, The Chelsea Hotel once existed as an informal artists’ community. In the latter half of the 1900s, the 400 room hotel housed artists who lived for free, or traded their work for rent. The hotel was a destination for tourists, paying to rent bleak rooms for the opportunity to witness the emerging art elite who lived and played there. Rockstars like Joni Mitchell, Patti Smith and Janis Joplin could be found writing and mingling amongst a crowd of painters, literary artists, fashion designers, ilm directors and Warhol’s “Factory Girls.”
