Turning heads
The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards were held in Los Angeles at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles last week and while a lot of focus was on the awards (obviously), there was possibly even more focus on the fashion. The red carpet lit up with Hollywood’s most famous female stars in a variety of gowns and other interesting outits. This week we discuss some of our favourite looks from the event.
Jessica Biel stood out from the crowd in a stunningly simple
Ralph & Russo gown from their Fall 2018 Couture collection.
The white dress had a bridal feel to it and walking down the carpet on her husband Justin Timberlake’s arm, Jessica did in fact look like a bride. With asymmetrical draping and beaded geometric appliqués, the dress certainly turned heads.
Scarlett Johansson and Kristen Bell also wore white.
Another trend which we saw on the red carpet was trouser suits. Quite a few ladies opted for trousers instead of dresses this time perhaps taking inspiration from Evan Rachel Wood who wore trousers to every event during last award season. Tatiana Maslany from Orphan Black wore a daring Christian Siriano black suit while creator and star of Insecure, Issa Rae, wore a crystal-beaded half dress half trouser suit number. These choices added variety to the red carpet proving that you don’t have to follow the crowd and play it safe.
