Con­certed ef­fort to con­trol ware­house fire

AJMAN: FIFTY ive ire ighters From Ajman Civil De­fence in co­or­di­na­tion with ire ighters From DUBAI, SHAR­JAH and Umm Al Quwain par­tic­i­pated in con­trol­ling a mas­sive blaze that en­gulfed four fur­ni­ture ware­houses on Mon­day evening at around 8pm. The ware­houses are lo­cated at Al Jarf area .

Bri­gadier Ab­del Aziz Ali Shamsi, Gen­eral Di­rec­tor of the Ajman Civil De­FENSE SAID THE ire was SPREAD­ING rapidly DUE to THE nu­mer­ous lammable Items in the ware­houses. How­ever, no in­juries were re­ported as Ajman Po­lice and the civil de­fence im­me­di­ately va­cated the ware­houses As soon As THE ire Erupted and thick smoke started bil­low­ing. The SCENE was Cor­doned OFF to stop THE ire from spread­ing to the neigh­bour­ing ware­houses. Po­lice also closed some roads to En­sure smooth Ar­rival of ire bri­gade ve­hi­cles.

A HUGE inan­cial loss was REG­IS­TERED con­sid­er­ing that the whole con­tents of the ware­houses were burnt. The ex­tin­guish­ing and cool­ing process was un­der­taken us­ing 800,000 litres of wa­ter and 6,500 litres of foam. On com­plet­ing the ex­tin­guish­ing process, the po­lice was handed the scene to launch a probe into THE main CAUSE of THE ire.
