Duo in the dock for road rage
DUBAI: A businessman accompanied by an employee, both from a GCC country, committed a felony of threatening people and causing trouble on a high road and two misdemeanours of jeopardising the lives of others and using explosives against an Asian salesman.
According to the Public Prosecution’s investigations, the businessman stopped his car before the car used by the salesman in a way that would endanger the lives of people on the road.
He repeated this several times and on each occasion he asked the salesman in English to step out.
The salesman, however, did not respond. The businessman got out of his car and approached the victim’s car before opening a can that released white smoke leaving the salesman panicky.
Consequently, the salesman rushed to the police which initiated investigation into the case and referred it to the public prosecution and then to Dubai Criminal Court.
The forensic report showed that an explosive material in the form of ireworks caused the smoke.
