Man as­saults, robs friend

SHAR­JAH: Shar­jah Sharia Court has heard the case of an Asian young man against whom a theft charge was lev­eled by Shar­jah Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tion. The de­fen­dant as­saulted a friend while in in­dus­trial area be­fore steal­ing his wal­let, which con­tained im­por­tant cards and Dhs600.

As the de­fen­dant de­nied the charge and the con­tent of the med­i­cal re­port, which showed that the vic­tim suf­fered in­juries in the face and head, the court ad­journed the case till Novem­ber 19 to hear the vic­tim’s state­ment.

The court also heard the case of an­other Asian charged with steal­ing elec­tric ca­bles worth Dhs10,000 from his place of work in In­dus­trial Area 12. Ac­cord­ing to the pros­e­cu­tion wit­ness, the de­fen­dant was seized by the guard with the stolen items in his pos­ses­sion. The de­fen­dant, how­ever, de­nied the charge and claimed that the tes­ti­mony of the pros­e­cu­tion wit­ness was not true.
