Over 100 women attend ‘Our Women Our Heroes’ event at Al Qasba
SHARJAH: More than 100 women from a wide spectrum of society attended a day-long event to mark ‘Our Women Our Heroes’ and enjoyed various free health check-ups and goodies of wellness products from different participating specialists.
The event was organised by Amira Ali, CEO and Founder of ‘Our Women Our Heroes,’ in collaboration with Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq).
As many as a dozen stalls were set UP BY VARIOUS SPECIALISTS FROM THE IELDS of medicine, wellness, food nutrition and others related to women at Qanat al Qasba’s open space. The event was not only attended by employees of Shurooq but also many from other organisations and workplaces.
Amira Ali, CEO and Founder of ‘Our Women Our Heroes,’ told The Gulf Today that the purpose of the initiative is to recognise the accomplishments of women around us and organise a series of events at different government departments to highlight their success stories.
The event was inaugurated by Marwan Al Sarkal, CEO, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) in the presence of guests, OFICIALS AND OTHERS.
“The initative of ‘Our Women Our Heroes’ was launched in March 2016 coinciding with International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day through a major event at Zabeel Women’s Club. So far a series of events with activities for women to target every segments of the society have been organised,” she said.
Responding to a question, she said, “Our Women Our Heroes initiative aims to raise the awareness of the people about the medical aspects and the concern of healthy lifestyle and to spread health awareness of women in particular through establishment of 15 activities in the various departments and governmental bodies in the Emirate of Sharjah including bringing health professionals to these bodies, and the establishment of various recreational activities that accompany the spread of fun and happiness and focus on the role of women in the UAE society and encourage them to keep pace with development and creativity.”
