Pak­istan work­ing on China eco­nomic cor­ri­dor

Pak­istan has been im­ple­ment­ing the plan to build an eco­nomic cor­ri­dor with China, the plan­ning min­is­ter, Ah­san Iqbal, said yes­ter­day. China has promised US$57 bil­lion in in­vest­ment in pro­jects along the China-Pak­istan Eco­nomic Cor­ri­dor, part of its Belt and Road plan link­ing China with the Mid­dle East and Europe. Chi­nese pres­i­dent Xi Jin­ping pro­posed the pro­ject in 2013. Pak­istan will also in­vest $10bn, Mr Iqbal said. The eco­nomic cor­ri­dor will be com­pleted in three phases, he said.
