Featured in our Town and Country trend piece (page 14), this vintagestyle trunk case is part of Sophie Hulme’s A/W12 collection for the luxury luggage label Globe-Trotter. The British womenswear and accessories designer, called “one of London’s brightest talents” by the Daily Telegraph, was given the task of redesigning the iconic Globe-Trotter handle – the first person to do so in the company’s 113-year history. The results, with the handle encased in the brass hardware that has become her signature, is a reflection of Hulme’s notably minimalist style. The interior of the cases have a striped silk lining, and each comes with a leather and brass luggage tag. The collection is produced in three colour ways: ivory/natural, navy/navy and navy/burgundy. All pieces are handmade on Victorian machinery at the Globe-Trotter factory in Hertfordshire, England.
