Female artists tackle war and its consequences
This exhibition reflects on destroyed and impoverished landscapes and looting during war and conflict. Twenty eight pieces from 13 female artists from countries such as Afghanistan, the UAE, Lebanon and Morocco are on display. The works include sculptures, installations, videos, photographs, books and graphic novels. One of the artists, Tamara Abdul Hadi, was born to Iraqi parents in the UAE and her work tackles social injustice and the deconstruction of stereotypes. Wastelands runs at the San Telmo Museum in San Sebastián, Spain, until May 21. For more information, visit www.santelmomuseoa.eus.
