A chance to engage in some mental gymnastics
“You probably think of Doublethink as a negative concept. We in Russia think of it as just the beginning.” So says the Muscovite conceptualist, Pavel Pepperstein, one of more than 35 artists featured in the Pera Museum’s latest show. Curated by Alistair Hicks, Doublethink Double Vision uses work by the likes of William Kentridge, Anselm Kiefer, Bruce Nauman and Raymond Pettibon to investigate different traditions of flexible thinking and seeing, enforced and otherwise. Doublethink Double Vision is on show at the Pera Museum in Istanbul from May 25 to August 6. For more information visit www.peramuseum.org.
