NO MUSTARD GAS IN ROCKET ON TROOPS

-

WASHINGTON // The US military concluded that a rocket fired earlier this month at an Iraqi air base housing hundreds of US troops contained no mustard gas, as was suspected. Test results released on Tuesday “determined there were no chemical warfare agents present in the munitions fired toward the Qayyarah-West Airfield, Iraq” on September 20, according to the US military command in Baghdad. A field test of residue from fragments recovered indicated the possible presence of mustard gas but further tests proved otherwise.
