Officials look to solve two-hour exit delays

-

It was a case of good news and bad news for Russia World Cup officials at the weekend. The positive was that the Luzhiniki Stadium in Moscow hosted the friendly between Russia and Argentina on Saturday, which the South Americans won 1-0, with no noticable issues. The problem was leaving the ground as spectators reported that took as long as two hours in some cases to get to the nearest metro station by the stadium post-match. The bottlenecks were caused by ongoing works at the station, said Vladimir Chernikov, the head of Moscow’s security department, in comments carried by the Interfax news agency. The number of shuttles from the stadium to the station would be increased in the near future, he said.
