Accused killer found dead in detention cell
Hong Kong authorities said yesterday that a South Korean businessman accused of murdering his wife and son killed himself while in custody. The man was found unconscious in his cell at a detention centre. His name was not given but media reports identified him as Kim Min-ho. Kim was found with a bed sheet wrapped around his neck and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police had arrested Kim, 43, in January for allegedly killing his wife and son at Hong Kong’s RitzCarlton hotel. Media said he was chief executive of the South Korean franchise of the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. He was due to appear in court on May 23.
