“Min­is­ters are puzzling over what can be done about ir­re­spon­si­ble drink­ing in Bri­tish air­ports. This could be seen by many as disin­gen­u­ous. Over the past 20 years, the tax­man has fared in­cred­i­bly well out of Bri­tain nail­ing the ‘spend it cos you’re on your hols’ ex­pe­ri­ence, which leads ev­ery hol­i­day­maker, my­self in­cluded, to feel slightly re­miss if they don’t lug a two-litre bot­tle onto the flight.
