Affair row: Australian politics has been thrown into turmoil by a dramatic row between the Liberal PM, Malcolm Turnbull, and his National Party deputy, Barnaby Joyce, over the latter’s extra-marital affair with a former staffer who is now expecting his baby. Last week, Turnbull announced a ban on ministers having relationship with members of their staff and accused Joyce of creating a “world of woe” with his affair, while there were calls for him to resign. Joyce responded by accusing the PM of making “inept” and “unnecessary” comments that had only caused his family “further harm”.
