Jaguar unveils new XJ range for 2016
Jaguar has updated its XJ large saloon range for the 2016 model year. Along with subtle styling differences, and an upgraded interior, the biggest headlines are the added XJ R-sport and XJ Autobiography models at the top of the range.
Available from August this year, the R-sport model gains new side sills, a three- piece front-splitter, side power vents and a rear spoiler, and the grille mesh, rear valence and window finishers get a gloss black finish. Wheels are 20-inch Venom pieces, and inside there are sports seats, an R-sport steering wheel, Jet headliner and piano black trim.
Naturally, being the sporty model, the R-sport comes with plenty of punch, and is fitted with Jaguar’s 5.0-litre V8 engine.
The Autobiography model, meanwhile, is available only as a long-wheelbase version, and can be identified by its chrome front bumper air intakes and 20-inch Mataiva wheels. Inside, there’s an Autobiography Intaglio, quilted semi-aniline leather seats with contrasting stitching, a leather headliner, oak inlay veneer, and illuminated steel treadplates, air vents and boot finisher.
Across the range, Jaguar has updated the XJ’S infotainment system by fitting a new Incontrol Touch Pro touchscreen and a 26-speaker, 1,300W Meridian Digital Reference audio system. Jaguar has also fitted a reconfigurable 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster that now offers full-screen navigation display.
On the outside of the rest of the range, there’s a refresh with full LED headlights and double J-blade daytime running lights, as well as Black Pearl options.
