Infiniti’s little tease
Infiniti to debut production Q30 at Frankfurt Motor Show
Infiniti has announced that it will show off its first Q30 Premium Active Compact at the International Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year.
The Q30 is new territory for the premium brand, and is aimed at customers seeking “urban individuality”. The company promises dynamic driving characteristics and responsive performance, as well as a supple ride.
The car to debut in September is based on the Q30 Concept, which was unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt show. Infiniti says that the car garnered such a strong response due to its design traits that it has decided to put the Q30 into production. The carmaker also insists that the production car will remain faithful to the concept that it originally showcased.
“Design is a key pillar of the Infiniti brand – and the new Q30 Active Compact perfectly embodies this approach,” said Infiniti president Roland Krueger.
“The Q30 Active Compact delivers the distinctive design, the driving dynamics and the individuality that our customers expect of an Infiniti vehicle. With our first ever entry in the compact car segment, we continue the product offensive and provide additional options for our discerning customers.”
While details are still scant, Infiniti says that the interior will be “expressive”, with crafted trims and a striking design.
The Q30 underwent final testing and development in Europe. It will be built in Sunderland in the UK, which becomes the fourth country to build Infiniti vehicles.
