Microsoft launches Windows 10 at Burj Khalifa
Microsoft unveiled its latest operating system, Windows 10, to around 500 fans at a celebration event held at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai at the end of July. The event brought together UAE fans, partners, customers, media professionals and Windows Insiders, who joined in with more than 5 million from around the world who helped Microsoft with their instrumental feedback in the development of the new operating system.
The celebrations were also part of special events to commemorate the launch of Windows 10 that were exclusive to 13 cities around the world, including Dubai. The event offered experiential demos and an opportunity to meet and interact with the Windows team.
The event also saw the launch of a new, year-long initiative to celebrate people and organisations making a difference around the world. Microsoft encouraged people to share how they plan to #UpgradeyourWorld and to vote for a global non-profit to receive a cash donation by simply mentioning the nonprofit in a post on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter and using the hashtags #Upgradeyourworld and #Vote.
Microsoft also used the event to announce that Windows 10 is now available as a free upgrade or with new PCS and tablets.
