Mi­crosoft launches Win­dows 10 at Burj Khal­ifa

Mi­crosoft un­veiled its lat­est op­er­at­ing sys­tem, Win­dows 10, to around 500 fans at a cel­e­bra­tion event held at the Burj Khal­ifa in Dubai at the end of July. The event brought to­gether UAE fans, part­ners, cus­tomers, me­dia pro­fes­sion­als and Win­dows In­sid­ers, who joined in with more than 5 mil­lion from around the world who helped Mi­crosoft with their in­stru­men­tal feed­back in the de­vel­op­ment of the new op­er­at­ing sys­tem.

The cel­e­bra­tions were also part of spe­cial events to com­mem­o­rate the launch of Win­dows 10 that were exclusive to 13 cities around the world, in­clud­ing Dubai. The event of­fered ex­pe­ri­en­tial demos and an op­por­tu­nity to meet and in­ter­act with the Win­dows team.

The event also saw the launch of a new, year-long ini­tia­tive to cel­e­brate peo­ple and or­gan­i­sa­tions mak­ing a dif­fer­ence around the world. Mi­crosoft en­cour­aged peo­ple to share how they plan to #Up­gradey­our­World and to vote for a global non-profit to re­ceive a cash do­na­tion by sim­ply men­tion­ing the non­profit in a post on Instagram, Face­book or Twit­ter and us­ing the hash­tags #Up­gradey­our­world and #Vote.

Mi­crosoft also used the event to an­nounce that Win­dows 10 is now avail­able as a free up­grade or with new PCS and tablets.
