Abu Dhabi Ocean Rac­ing cel­e­brates a win

Abu Dhabi Ocean Rac­ing’s team cel­e­brated win­ning the Volvo Ocean Race tro­phy at home in Abu Dhabi af­ter the fi­nal awards cer­e­mony held in Gothen­burg, Swe­den, over the sum­mer. Emi­rati sailor Adil Khalid was pic­tured with the large tro­phy in Abu Dhabi, and later pre­sented it, along with skip­per Ian Walker, to His High­ness Sheikh Sul­tan bin Tah­noon Al Nay­han, Chair­man TCA Abu Dhabi af­ter their vic­tory on the race.

These cel­e­bra­tions at home were made af­ter the fi­nal awards cer­e­mony on June 27, 2015 in Gothen­burg. The Volvo Ocean Race 2014-15 is the 12th run­ning of this ocean marathon. Start­ing from Ali­cante in Spain on Oc­to­ber 04, 2014, the route, span­ning some 39,379 nau­ti­cal miles, vis­ited 11 ports in eleven coun­tries (Spain, South Africa, United Arab Emi­rates, China, New Zealand, Brazil, United States, Por­tu­gal, France, The Nether­lands and Swe­den) over nine months. The Volvo Ocean Race is the world’s premier ocean yacht race for pro­fes­sional rac­ing crews.
