CLUB LIMITADA HEADS TO THE SOCIAL ROOM FOR AN EVENING OF SOCIAL PAIRINGS
VIRTUOZITY’S CLUB LIMITADA recently descended upon the Social Room at the Intercontinental Dubai Marina, home of some of the city’s trendiest locales. On the menu for the evening was a couple of fabulous Cuban cigars, and a selection of Portthemed drinks with which to pair them. And, befitting the name Marina Social, the venue provided ample opportunity for a social evening of great conversation.
Mood lighting, modern furnishings and top-of-the-line DJS have made this bar into a Dubai hot spot. The bar is actually attached to Marina Social, headed up by British celebrity chef Jason Atherton. But while Atherton’s restaurant may be mixing up the world of Mediterranean cuisine, the Social Room next door has mixologists cooking up their own storm of interesting cocktails. The bar also has one of Dubai’s largest whisky collections. thick beauty that has been a staple of the Bolivar range for decades. The shape is actually a Camapanas, though it’s often mistaken for a Piramides, but there’s no doubting the individualistic looks of the cigar. Likewise, the Fino smokes in its own special way, too. As is the case with many other Bolivars, it’s very much on the fullbodied side of the spectrum, with some reporting that their overbearing memory of the smoke is simply a perception of strength. Taken lightly, though, the Fino offers plenty of extremely smooth smoke containing a stunning, full-bodied flavour. As a result, the heavy notes of cream, honey, leather and nuts simply melt in the mouth, leaving an impression for hours after the nub has been extinguished.
