the pre­sen­ta­tion of the first Reserva from the Hoyo de Mon­ter­rey brand, in its iconic Epi­cure No 2 vitola (50 x 124 mm), which is a sym­bol of the brand and one of the most pop­u­lar Ha­banos vi­to­las world­wide. Un­til now, Hoyo de Mon­ter­rey was the only global Ha­banos brand that had not yet pre­sented a Reserva or a Gran Reserva.

To pre­pare this Reserva, all the leaves mak­ing up the Ha­bano (filler, bin­der and wrap­per) have un­der­gone a long and care­ful three-year ag­ing process. This is a unique and exclusive pro­duc­tion of 5,000 num­bered cases, which rep­re­sent the ab­so­lute ex­cel­lence of the brand and which will cer­tainly be en­thu­si­as­ti­cally re­ceived by Ha­banos en­thu­si­asts.

Epi­cure No 2 is un­doubt­edly one of the Ro­bus­tos most recog­nised and ap­pre­ci­ated by Ha­banos smok­ers. This is a trend for­mat, which unites the brand’s most recog­nised char­ac­ter­is­tics such as the soft­ness of its blend and its sweet, del­i­cate and aro­matic char­ac­ter, to give this Ha­bano in­cred­i­ble el­e­gance and com­plex­ity. Ha­banos also used this year’s fes­ti­val to un­veil the new Co­hiba Medio Siglo, which comes with a 52 ring gauge and a length of 102 mm. The launch will be in­cor­po­rated into the brand’s reg­u­lar port­fo­lio in Línea 1492, mark­ing the 50th An­niver­sary of Co­hiba, launched in 1966.

The new Medio Siglo fea­tures a com­pletely new vitola in the range of sizes of Ha­banos, its di­men­sions be­ing a trib­ute to two other clas­sic vi­to­las in Línea 1492. The Co­hiba Medio Siglo has the 52 ring gauge (20.64 mm) of the Co­hiba Siglo VI and the length (102 mm) of the Co­hiba Siglo I, lead­ing to a modern, small for­mat Ha­bano that is com­pletely new for the brand, with a smok­ing time of around 30 min­utes and the medium strength flavour that char­ac­terises Línea 1492.

It should also be high­lighted that this rep­re­sents the first launch within Línea 1492 since 2002, when the Co­hiba Siglo VI was pre­sented. With this launch, Co­hiba strength­ens its of­fer in smaller for­mats, and of­fers its smok­ers an in­ter­est­ing vitola in line with cur­rent trends. The Medio Siglo will be re­leased in two pre­sen­ta­tions - a 25-unit Slide Lid Box (SLB) and a three-unit alu­minium tube in a case. Me­nah­while, H. Up­mann’s line was given a boost with the Mag­num 54, a com­pletely new vitola which is in­cor­po­rated into the brand’s reg­u­lar port­fo­lio and which will be­come the third vitola in Línea Mag­num, af­ter the clas­sic Mag­num 46 and Mag­num 50, pre­sented in 2008.
