Montblanc has made another addition to its Great Characters collection of limited-edition writing instruments. This one, launched on what would have been Miles Davis’ 90th birthday, is dedicated to the great jazz musician.

The unique trumpet shape of the of the pen makes the writing instrument stand out, while the trumpet valves on the clip and a cone shaped like a special Heim mouthpiece evoque the instrument that Davis was best known for.

The skeletonised cap with intarsia creates a threedimensional effect, with a striking trumpet in red gold inlaid into the design. Under the Au7 50 white gold, a translucent resin underlay in blue recalls the colour theme of one of Davis’ studio albums Kind of Blue, regarded by many critics as his masterpiece and one of the greatest jazz recordings of all time. The elegant tone of blue also features as colourful accent at the end of the cone. HTC recently announced the 10 Evo, which has the world’s first USB Type-c dual-adaptive earphones as its main selling point.

According to HTC, the new smartphone takes audio to a new level with HTC Boomsound Adaptive Audio, which almost instantly adapts the audio to sound levels around the user. HTC also promises that the phone’s sound will adapt to users’ unique ear structures. Naturally, the device also comes with high-res audio that offers realistic, 24-bit sound.

“I’ve been a huge fan of music all my life, and the HTC 10 Evo has the most awesome sound I’ve ever experienced in a smartphone,” said Guy Chriqui, member of HTC’S Elevate community of smartphone enthusiasts. “The capabilities of the HTC Boomsound Adaptive Audio earphones are unbelievable in how they match the sound to my ears. I’ve never heard anything like it before!”

Aside from the audio, the HTC 10 Evo also comes with a large, 5.5-inch display, and an all-metal unibody that is water-, spashand dust-resistant. Meanwhile, the device’s 16-megapixel camera features optical image stabilisation, which reduces camera shake to capture sharp photos on the go. The camera can also shoot in RAW format, making the device a good back-up camera for photographers.

QNET recently launched the Spirit Watch United collection, which was designed to celebrate the 45th UAE National Day.

With bright colors of red, green, white and black on the strap, the watch reflects the UAE national flag. Combining style and the promise of Swiss reliability made under the Bernhard H. Mayer face, the watch celebrates the UAE’S identity. The timepiece is furnished with scratchproof sapphire crystal glass, and a sophisticated slim nylon strap.

“Our latest Spirit Watch collection reflects QNET’S commitment to celebrate with its host country, the UAE, with a cosmopolitan watch that shows the community’s pride in what this country has achieved in its 45 years of uniting seven Emirates into one country, which have all contributed to national pride,” said Trevor Kuna, chief marketing officer of QNET UAE.

“Watch aficionados can wear this watch and show their deep love for their country. With the launch of this watch collection, we would like to show our appreciation to our partners and customers in the UAE region.” Valentino Parfums recently launched the Felt Edition collection of fragrances, made up of the Valentino Uomo and the Valentino Donna.

The fragrances come in an elegant new packaging—cool grey for Valentino Donna and slate-grey for Valentino Uomo—formed from felt, a material both precious and strong. Beneath the understated exterior the iconic studded glass bottle is revealed, in an irreverent collision of contradictory textures. They’re finished with tailor-made leather plaques that can be customised with gold initials.

Inside, the fragrances retain their timeless formulas. The Valentino Donna fragrance revolves around a contrast of noble, subtle ingredients - rose essential oil, bergamot, pale iris, leather, patchouli and vanilla. The accords of Valentino Uomo change on the wearer over time. Its subtle, unique signature—a blend of bergamot, myrtle, coffee, gianduja cream, white leather and cedar—is only revealed up close.

The Personalised Felt Editions intuitively blend the savoir faire of the house of Valentino with cool-edged technology and craftsmanship.

Apple recently introduced the thinnest and lightest Macbook Pro ever, along with a new interface that replaces the traditional row of function keys with a Retina-quality Multi-touch display called the Touch Bar.

The new Macbook Pro features Apple’s brightest and most colorful Retina display yet, the security and convenience of Touch Id—which current iphone owners will be accustomed to—a more responsive keyboard, a larger Force Touch trackpad and an audio system with double the dynamic range. It’s also the most powerful Macbook Pro ever, featuring sixth-generation quad-core and dual-core processors, up to 2.3 times the graphics performance over the previous generation, super-fast SSDS and up to four Thunderbolt 3 ports.

The Touch Bar places controls right at the user’s fingertips and adapts when using the system or apps like Mail, Finder, Calendar, Numbers, and many more, including third-party apps. For example, the Touch Bar can show Tabs and Favorites in Safari, enable easy access to emoji in Messages, provide a simple way to edit images or scrub through videos in Photos and so much more.

“This week marks the 25th anniversary of Apple’s first notebook; through the years each generation has introduced new innovations and capabilities, and it’s fitting that this all-new generation of Macbook Pro is the biggest leap forward yet,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

“With the groundbreaking new Touch Bar, the convenience of Touch ID, the best Mac display ever, powerful performance, improved audio, blazing fast storage and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity in our thinnest and lightest pro notebook yet, the new Macbook Pro is the most advanced notebook ever made.”
