WITH THE TWINKLING LIGHTS OF SIN CITY AS A BACKDROP, VIRTUOZITY HEADS INTO THE DESERTS OF NEVADA TO TRY OUT THE NEW JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK
4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8, which, in this model, puts out 604 bhp and 627 lb ft of torque. That means that the new E63 is good for 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds— meaning that it’s blisteringly quick.
All that power is why AMG has fitted the new E63 with a four-wheel drive system. The company says, however, that the system offers fully variable torque distribution between the front and rear axels, meaning it’ll still be possible to have fun around a track with understeering into a tyre wall.
Indeed, the new E63 comes with a Drift Mode, which will send 100 per cent of the power to the rear tyres, turning the car into a hairy-chested madman. And if you’re just after quick lap times, AMG says that the new ‘air body control’ air suspension will help keep things tidy through quick corners. That suspension system is also supposed to provide a sumptuous ride when you just want to relax.
